Seagulls, love them or loathe them they seem to be seen as 'part of the experience' of a UK seaside holiday. However, they can become aggressive especially when protecting their nests/young, and whilst swooping of birds on individuals generally isn't seen as a health and safety risk as the birds are only administering 'scare tactics' and/or are protecting their own, this should not be at the detriment of staffs /guests safety and enjoying their time on site.
With this in mind we would like to raise the awareness of the dangers that Seagulls can present and in doing so hopefully reduce the risk of a serious incident on site.
The Company's current policy on Seagulls is that if a nest is found on a chalet and/or problems stem from a certain chalet it is the owners responsibility to deal with it.
If a chalet is found to have nesting Seagulls we will inform you at the earliest opportunity.
So what can be done ?
Prevention is the key, and there are a number of solutions to consider. It is always worth seeking professional advice from Pest Control experts. There are numerous companies that offer this service, but for ease of reference I have only listed two.

As a quick win, we need to discourage everyone from feeding the Seagulls. We try to reiterate this through posters in reception, site maps that are handed out on arrival, the notice board and verbally if anyone is 'caught in the act'.

To ensure we have a tight control over your keys, advanced notice of any tradesmen visiting or deliveries to your chalet that require access would be very much appreciated along with your authorisation to hand out keys to the appropriate visitor. If we have not received pre – authorisation we will not hand out any keys until such time as we can get hold of you.
It is with regret that we are not in a position to accompany anyone to the chalet or indeed ’wait in’ for them to arrive.
Therefore if you are expecting a tradesman or delivery that requires access out of working hours you will need to make alternative arrangements.
